Louis Vuitton Star Designer Marc Jacobs

The designer of Brand Marc Jacobs, Marc Jacobs, was born in New York on Sep.9th in 1963. From 1981, he received further education in the famous design school, Parson’s School of Design after graduating from senior middle school of art design. Marc Jacobs showed his talent originality and craft in design, and made a fine figure during the time in school. He had received some awards, such as “The Perry Ellis Gold Thimble Award”, “The Chester Weinberg Gold Thimble Award” and “The Design Student Of The Year Award”, etc. In addition, at the same time, he launched his first self-designed sweater series to the market.

In 1984, he and his good friend, Duffy, founded the design company named Jacobs Duffy. In 1986, he was supported to launch cloths series named after himself, Marc Jacobs. In the next year, he received the highest honor “CFDA” in the fashion world of the United States, and became the youngest designer who received this award.

From 1989 to 1992, he worked in Perry Ellis as the vice president of Dress Design. After 1992, he focused on the development of his own brand. Later, LVMA acquired the shares of Marc Jacobs’s company, and Marc Jacobs began to further develop his own brand on the strength of LVMA’s power. In 1997, he was appointed LV’s Art Director, responsible for the design of mans’ wear, dress, leather shoes, and small leather products. Ever since, Marc Jacobs has become the “New Star” of European fashion design.

The garments designed by Marc Jacobs for LV is elegant and concise, but he empties design philosophy of “RONIN FASHION” into his own brand. Marc Jacobs’s Bohemian attitude formed when he was a child, the days in famous club” Studio 54” in New York, his fascination in British New Romanticism, and his beloved attitude of Vivienne Westwood’s rebellious attitude, all of which are applied to his design of cloths series.

Now, he has fell in love with his work place, Paris. And he has successfully combined New York’s passion and Paris’s luxury, making Marc Jacobs’s cloths the noble and casual style.
